From the Wire…Cubs Release Esteban German

According to a report from the Chicago Tribune, the Cubs released Esteban German on Friday.

Esteban German signed a minor league deal with the Cubs on March 13 that included a non-roster invitation to Spring Training. After 16 days in big league camp, the Cubs re-assigned German to minor league camp on March 29.

Friday marked the second time this spring Esteban German has been released from an organization. The Royals DFA’d German on February 28 to make room on their 40-man roster for Juan Cruz. German cleared waivers and was released by the Royals on March 9.
