In the midst of announcing the latest cuts from the Spring Training roster on Tuesday, the Cubs outrighted Richie Robnett to Triple-A Iowa.
With the procedural move, Robnett was removed from the Cubs’ 40-man roster and created a valuable vacancy on their Major League roster. With the move, the Cubs’ 40-man roster stands at 38 players. Richie Robnett was acquired along with infielder Justin Sellers for Michael Wuertz on February 2 from the Oakland A’s.
