Bako and Hill Will Compete

According to a report from Bruce Miles, Paul Bako and Koyie Hill will compete for the backup catcher’s job. Miles reported, “Bako wasn’t brought in just to be handed the job.

The Cubs like Koyie Hill and according to Miles, the Cubs staff liked throwing to Hill last year better than they did Henry Blanco.

After the Cubs inked Paul Bako, Bruce Levine reported Paul Bako’s deal would not become guaranteed until the end of March. If the Cubs release Bako before, they would be responsible for 20% of the $750,000 contract.
