According to multiple reports, Rich Harden will not pitch for Team Canada in the upcoming World Baseball Classic. The Tribune reported Harden "might not be ready to start for the Cubs during March because of his on-and-off right shoulder."
Harden told the Toronto Globe and Mail that he is disappointed but his number one priority is the Chicago Cubs.
The Sun-Times revealed during last weekend's convention that Rich Harden has a tear in the joint but the Cubs said Harden is on schedule for Spring Training. Harden spent the winter in Arizona working on conditioning and strengthening his shoulder.
The Tribune also indicated "the Cubs have no desire to see Carlos Zambrano throwing for Venezuela during the Classic." Zambrano is expected to have LASIK eye surgery before Spring Training begins and could back out of the WBC.
Stay Tuned....

This news about Harden makes it imperative that Hendry gets Peavy.
Harden needs to be the 5th man in the rotation.
Man, we need Harden healthy...I hope he is ready by Opening Day.
Rub some tussin on it and get him in the game!
I am happy that he is not pitching in the classic, because we will now be able to protect him in Spring training.
Quick Larry, get the man a towel!!!
