Isn't Ty Wigginton still available? Younger and a better player than both Aurilia and Millar.

Aurilia would be a better option as he can still hit and kills lefties.

Ty Wigginton is a everyday player, he won't wanna come here for 200 AB's. Plus he wants like 5-6m per season.

OK, I still don't understand Bako instead of Blanco. Someone explain it to me. Same price. Blanco and Soto are like brothers, HB has a gun for an arm, and in your gut you all agree that Blanco is kind of clutch, right? Bako has no bat. It's just weird.

Getting a left handed catcher for the sake of his left handedness make no sense. Especially since Bako can't even hit a right handed pitcher, let alone a lefty.

Sign Aurilia, get rid of "Double-play" Lee after this season if he continues his poor hitting. Time to give Hoffs a shot at the 1-bag too.

I don't understand it, we have a catcher in house who is left handed and if I remember correctly, he also handled our pitching staff pretty good a few years back when Barrett was traded, oh yea his name is KOYE HILL!!

I might be in the minority here, but I would like to have Millar, actually I really want him on the team. He was part of the "idiots" Red Sox team who forgot about all of the stupid Red Sox curses and crap and went out and won the World Series, I think he is one of those verteran guys we need in the dugout, kind of like Karros was in '03!

I agree, Bako is a waist... escpecially if we could've had Blanco. Oh well.

As much as Aurillia or Millar would be cool - I honestly would rather have someone who could play some SS. I wasn't crazy about Uribe - but someone cheap that can glove would be nice.

Also, we need some Lefty bullpen help. Are there any rumors on that? Juan Cruz anyone?

Our pen would look a lot better with Cruz in it.

K. Hill is a career .190 hitter (that has to be an oxymoron). I don't like Bako's bat either. I've been hoping that we can spring for a $1.5 mil guy like Valentin--who does have some lefty pop. There has to be something we don't know regarding Blanco.

I'm guessing that we will try to scrape together the $3-$4 mil or so it will take to sign Aurilia--who once played SS regularly. Which means the backup catcher will be defense only. I really like the step up character of Aurilia and his bat--especially against lefties (.320 + last year).

I don't think Aurillia can play SS anymore. Last year the Giants didn't play him there at all - and they didn't exactly have a lot of SS depth. I mean, if he can only play SS as well as Fonteno - Than we might as well just play Font there (or Miles).

I just checked, and the only real FA backup SS option left seems to be Alex Cintron. But, I'm sure he's still pissed at us from last year.

On a side note: Doesn't it seem like Millar would want to go to a team where he could play most everyday (proabably another AL team). It just seems like he isn't an NL "bench player".

Cookachoo, that is a good point.
I did read where he does want to play for a winner, and maybe since him and Dempster are good friends Dempt could persuade him.

aurilia or millar--why not nomar???
can play all 4 IF positions; and is a better stick than either;if he does not play everyday maybe he won't get hurt.

no one is even talking about him so his options have to be limited at this point.
