The 24th Annual Cubs Convention will kickoff on Friday afternoon at the Hilton Chicago and thanks to the Tribune here is the schedule for the three-day event that unofficially kicks off the 2009 season. The CCO has also compiled a list of scheduled attendees, in alphabetical order.
Cubs past and present will be in attendance as well as the newest Cub, Milton Bradley. The convention will also pay tribute to the '84 team on the 25th anniversary of a magical summer that helped create a whole new generation of the Faithful. Ryne Sandberg, Rick Sutcliffe, Bill Buckner, Bob Dernier, Keith Moreland, Scott Sanderson , Steve Trout and Lee Smith will be in attendance and figures to make "The Magic of '84" one of the largest attended events of the entire weekend.

1st Cubs Convention and I can't wait. Any insight on different functions. What's the dress? How about autographs? Places to eat within the convention area? I feel like a little kid going into my first chocolate factor!!!!!
Everyone pretty much wears cub's jerseys, cubs t-shirts, etc...anything cubs.
If you want popular player's autographs be prepared to wait in line for hours. Last year for Alfonso Soriano I waited in line for 2 1/2 hours. I'm really not sure about places to eat because my friends and I wanted to see players and get autographs the entire time. Try to go to the Cubs Bingo. The prizes are amazing. Also there are booths to buy memorabilia. Have Fun!! It's awesome to see the players up close and personal!
You forgot to include Jody Davis in the Magic of '84. He was the heart of that team!
Randy Wells was the best! Cute and nice! A real pleasure to have one of the young ones be a real gentleman!
