Brenly Signs Extension

Vote 0 Votes

On the same day a part of the Cubs past inked a 6-year deal to remain on the South Side, a part of the organization's present signed a 4-year extension to stay in the Cubs' broadcasting booth along side of Len Kasper. According to a report in the Daily Herald by Barry Rozner, Bob Brenly signed a 4-year contract extension with the Cubs on Saturday reported to be worth in the "neighborhood of $3.5 million."

Rumors suggested Steve Stone might return to the Cubs booth if Brenly did not re-up with Cubs.

Bob Brenly will call games for the Cubs through the 2012 season.

I wasnt a fan at all of Len and Bob but I agree they have grown on me.....

I will say however I would have preferred Steve Stone back in the booth....and I'm thinking the Cubs tried.....kind of ironic that his extension comes the day after Stone signed with the Sox......

    Makes me a happy dude.

I've fallen for the color commentary of that catcher loving son of a gun.

Him and Len have gotten better every year. They really grew on me late in 06 when it became obvious I couldnt enjoy the team. I learned to enjoy the PBP of those guys.

    Good deal.

Good for Bob! He's done a very good job here and he deserves his contract.
