Tuesday night's game between the Cubs and the Braves was rained out and will be made up as a part of a day-night doubleheader on Wednesday. Game one will start at 12:10pm C.T. with Charlie Morton on the mound for the Braves against Jason Marquis. The second game will begin at 6:10pm C.T. and will feature Rich Harden against Jorge Campillo according to reports on WGN Radio and WGN TV.... will update if the pitching match-ups change.
The CCO removed tonight's game preview and will re-launch most of it on Wednesday morning....the second game will have its own preview.
In the meantime, hopefully the Padres and the Marlins will put up wins tonight against the Brewers and Cardinals.

I just saw that Gary Sheffield was put on waivers. Will the Cubs go after him? I would! I know he's complained about not getting regular playing time with the Tigers, but with Fukudome struggling offensively, I think Sheff would be a HUGE boost. GO CUBS!!
Aaron, with all due respect....are you nuts? Sheff is batting .210, can't play defense, and is a clubhouse cancer. DeRo and Reed Johnson are MUCH better Right-Handed hitting options in the outfield. I can't see any scenario where Sheff would be an option. I think it's Tampa Bay or home on the couch for him.
Worked with Edmonds...but I don't like his defense...Fuk still tends to get on base, plus Sheff does had a LOT of baggage. I'd pass.
I suspect that Aaron's right about Sheffield's bat helping someone. He hit two HR tonight. But because of his age (39), his health and the $14 mil he is owed next year, Shef will be playing for the Tigers next year. Any trade will be $10 mil and Sheffield for someone elses bad contract.
The trade of the aging Byrd from Cleveland to the Red Sox gets me thinking. I wonder if it might have been possible to trade Marquis + for a AAA upper level prospect pitcher like Michael Bowden and a position player like OF Josh Reddick or ss Oscar Tejada before the deadline. But maybe, JH and Lou think we need Jason.
Gary Sheffield is a joke at his age. I don't want the Sheff. I would rather have Ryan Ludwick come to the Cubs through waivers and have him platoon with Kosuke Fukudome. Then we'll have 2 former Cardinals, Edmonds and Ludwick. That would be major incentive for the Cubs to out-wit and eat up at Tony LaRussa.
