The Cubs received good news following the dramatic 9th inning win against the White Sox on Friday afternoon. Results from the MRI on Zambrano's shoulder revealed a minor strain and no tear or damage to the labrum. The Cubs stated they would decide on the next step for Zambrano on Saturday.
According to a report in the Tribune, Zambrano is expected to miss his next start on Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles. The Cubs have not made an official announcement and multiple reports have suggested Sean Marshall would be recalled from Iowa to make the start on Tuesday instead of Zambrano. A report on Cubs.com indicated Marshall or Sean Gallagher could be inserted in Zambrano's spot.
Once the Cubs make the official announcement on their next plan of action with Zambrano then all of the speculation by the mainstream media will be put to rest. For now, there is good news....no structural damage to Zambrano's shoulder.
Stay Tuned....

It would have to be Marshall -- not a bad choice.
Rich Hill has walked 18 batters in 21 innings in AAA --- big no no there!
What about Lieber? Is he an official bench warmer/cheerleader now? I couldn't tell you the last time I saw him in a game. Is he in the doghouse or what?
Tony....Lieber mopped up on Thursday and threw 1 2/3 innings of shutout ball and allowed only 2 hits. The start in Cincinnati on May 9th really changed the Cubs' view on Lieber. I think he is viewed as a long man only. But I agree, he shouldbe used more.
