A Stiff Shoulder for Zambrano?

Vote 0 Votes

According to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times Wednesday morning, Carlos Zambrano "has had stiffness in the right shoulder/neck area since his start Saturday against the Pirates."

The Cubs are keeping a close watch on Zambrano this week and he is still on schedule to make his next start on Friday in Pittsburgh against the Pirates.

The report indicated Zambrano has "minor discomfort when he turns his head to the left" and he threw his normal bullpen session on Tuesday. According to a report in the Tribune, Zambrano said he slept on it wrong.

This appears minor....but stay tuned.

If I remember correctly everybody predicted around the same. in the 93-97 range. Which I'm starting to think is low. I didn't expect this offence to be this good. And I dont think there is any reason to think that it will slow down. We will probably go into a slump here and there but for the most part I think we are seeing the potential of this offense.

I do agree with Perry on Dempter. I think he will fade. But not until the trade deadline when we will pick up another starter.

But most of his other points are ridiculous and I do think that we could win over 100+. If nothing else we will clobber the weaker teams and hold our own against the others.

Perry has his shortcomings, but he implies and a number of us are saying we will need another 2-3 starter. I think we need a good lefty reliever too--which would cut a few innings from Marmol's rapidly growing total.

Like Austin and others, I don't think we win 100 regular season games. Perry says our pitching and hitting will back off some--which could threaten our winning the Central. He thinks we are OK to do well--if we get to the playoffs. I think the opposite. We're competitive in the Central or for the wild card--but we likely need a solid 2 guy to win the NLCS.

It would be interesting to know, if it doesn't break Neil's rules, to know how many of us predicted the Cubs would win 89-92, 93-96 or 97-100 regular season games.

Dayn Perry is probably the worst baseball writer in the world. His picture makes him look like a registered sex offender, and he doesn't know anything about baseball. His entire article contradicted itself: He question whether the Cubs can keep winning because people are both over and under-achieving. This is what happens over the course of a 162 game season. Some people have great seasons, and others have poor ones, both surpassing and failing expectations. People get hot and cool down. The key is to keep offsetting each other. Overall, the Cubs are a good team, a 101 team? Maybe not, but nevertheless, we have earned the right to first place, and nobody should be surprised looking at this team. Except maybe Dayn "I like little boys" Perry.

The CCO's favorite Dayn Perry is back to his favorite pastime everyone. Pissing on the Cubs.

The guy just slept awkward one night. I'm sure he'll be just fine with some massage and heat treatment. I'd be amazed if this warrants a trip on the DL. Let's not make more of this than what it seems to be.

  • Ronald Osborne Jr

We need to be very cautious, to be ton the same side maybe he should go on the disable list. Then we bring up Hart or Marshall to start.

  • Austin

Maybe this could be a blessing: They skip Zambrano's start, just to be safe, bring up Marshall, he pitches really well and gets the W, then they kick Marquis out of the roatation when Zambrano comes back!

  • jerljr

A good massage and it will be gone.

This sounds as if this is nothing. I did the same thing last week. Took 3 days before the discomfort was gone.

Lets hope this is very minor.
