Updated - 7:07pm C.T. - Kevin Hart will join the I-Cubs Starting Rotation According to a report on Cubs.com, the Cubs have selected Chad Fox from Double-A Tennessee and added him to the 40-man roster. To make room on the active roster, Kevin Hart was optioned to Triple-A Iowa. Fox will be available out of the pen Friday night for Lou Piniella in St. Louis. In other moves, the Cubs outrighted Juan Mateo to Daytona after struggling in Double-A this season. A report earlier in the week on Scout.com indicated, Mateo was contemplating retirement after his second demotion of the year. The move of Juan Mateo off the 40-man roster, freed a valuable spot. With the addition of Chad Fox, the Cubs 40-man roster stands at 38. Update - According to a report from Len Kasper during Friday night's Leadoff Man, Kevin Hart will join the Iowa Cubs rotation when he reports to Triple-A. |

O.K. I could see sending Hart down. But Chad Fox?
Chad Fox? Showing his wares for a potential trade?
