One week under our belts and it is time for a rambling session for all to enjoy, well hopefully enjoy. The Cubs have won four of their last five and after a rocky two game start, appear to be gaining steam. Hopefully this trend continues for another 150 games or so. Without further ado....here we go
- Paging Ted Lilly. Will Mr. Lilly please report to the white courtesy phone?
- FUK-U-DOME!!
- Well he may not have gotten the win, but it was refreshing to see Carlos pitch like....well Carlos....on an Opening Day.
- I am kind of worried about the SS position. Not like step out on the ledge worried, but just kind of worried.
- FUK-U-DOME!!
- Hey Aramis, it is a baseball, just throw it like you used to, nothing has changed about it man.
- My prediction of Derrek Lee as the Cubs MVP looks solid after one week.
- Again, that is ONE week, just one week. So that could change, I guess.
- FUK-U-DOME!!
- Notice a pattern?
- FUK-U-DOME!!
- Figure it out yet?
- FUK-U-DOME!!
- Yes, the man crush abounds, it is crazy. Again, only one week, but wow, awesome, just awesome, awesome, awesome. The man is awesome.
- The Reed Johnson character is intriguing. Now, I am still in Pie's camp, I truly believe he deserves a real chance, but it is nice to know we have an established Major League player to back him up .... or be the starter, whichever happens.
- Ryan Dempster is starting tonight. One game does not a season make, but another solid outing will be intriguing.
- And two games do not a season make either, but I think you know what I am getting at.
- Reason No. 1 why baseball is the most backward sport ever .... .094 equals $136 million .... WHAT?!
- Who looks more stupid: Ronny Cedeno after firing a throw 10 feet above D. Lee's head or Paris Hilton at any time of the day?
- Yes, I know, tough call. Not sure which way I am leaning yet.
- Geo started slow, but is tied with you know who for the team lead in RBI's.
- Oh wait, you don't know who....
- FUK-U-DOME!!! .... Yes, that is who!
- Hey Mr. Howry, when Mr. Lilly is done with the White Courtesy Phone, please pick it up from him, someone would like to talk to you as well.
- Wild Woody, oh this is going to be interesting. "TNT" or "Welcome to the Jungle"? I am a big GNR fan myself, but "TNT" really pumped me up last week. Both work for me.
- And White Castle (Marmol) is proving why he is more valuable in the 6th, 7th or 8th inning than as the closer. Just keep him there Lou.
- So our outfield defense is vastly improved, but we completely forget how to field and throw in the infield .... sounds about right for a Cubs team.
- Can we have The Riot play the field and RC Cola bat? Is that legal? Can we just use both of them at the same time? I have a bad feeling about this. I know I said it already, but I really have a bad feeling about this.
- No need to worry though because this is coming from the same guy who promised everyone the Cubs would be fine after D. Lee got injured in 2006. So, take it for whatever it's worth.
- And, just for my health .... FUK-U-DOME!!!
Well, that wraps up another edition of the wildly famous, at least in my head, edition of ramblings. I hope you enjoyed it.

Stay Classy Cubs Fans!!

Wait..didn't all my negativity about Theriot prove right so far? He has no range at short, and his OBP is .284...that's right. .284. His SLG is a nice .240.
Don't use the Sori is stinking argument against me, because I have my bases covered. We all know that as the weather heats up Sori will as well.
Theriot is obviously a little leaguer...and yet they hand him the SS job..
I really want Cedeno to step up and take the SS job. I know he has a higher upside than theriot i just hope he reaches it before we ship him off to the place all cub players go.... baltimore
Dude, I will fight you on this all year round. Theriot heated up in the summer before tiring in September. If hes still hitting .220 by the end of the month my ass is grass and you can be the lawn-mower.
But lets see what the guys got.
Intangibles.
They're real, they're the difference between the champion and everyone else.
IMO, Theriot bring positive intangibles that aren't measured with the common stats in baseball.
He's a gamer and brings enthusiasm and a spark to this club...
Recall, who led off the 12th inning on Monday with a walk? That type of situational playing is an intangible that leads to a winning club.
Brian.....love the stay classy part;)
Go CUBS GO!!!
Brian once again, love the Ramblings.
It is great to see D-Lee starting off this hot.
FUK-U-DOME!!!
I am still a Pie fan and hope he starts hitting like he was in ST, but Reed Johnson has impressed me in the two hole so far, gets a few hits, and takes walks. Basicaly gets on base, which is very important right now with the way Lee is hitting.
I am pulling for Dempster to have another very good start, and have a good year this year. (about a month ago I said he would be the surprise this year)
I am going to have to say Paris Hilton, I can't stand that women, even though she is hot.
FUK-U-DOME!!!
On the Theriot subject, no he is not out to a very good start, but what he did on Tuesday was needed and why he is the starting SS. He drew the walks when we needed and was able to steel 2nd twice. I will agree Cedeno is the better talent, but I don't see him doing that in the late innings of a game.
With the way Lee, FUK-U-DOME, Soto, and DeRo are all hitting right now, I can't wait till Soriano and Ramirez heat up, it gives me goose bumps just thinking about what the offense will be like.
Have to mention that Aramis has been hustlin' to first after hitting weak ground outs to the infield and even got to beat one out.
Soriano will be fine...but he should be batting 8th right now and Pie 1st.
Derosa needs to stop hitting into DPs now.
Our bullpen is a lot stronger than it looks.
Are you for real Fuku?...look kinda real to me...
Geo..show them!
Poltergiest Dereck....He's baaaaaack!
Our bench is a lot thinner than it shows.
Riot, I love you...you won our last game! But you suit our team best in the bench. RC you are up.
Let PIE play, thanks.
I hope that fans do not give Soriano the Jacques Jones treatment, that would be a HUGE mistake in this case.
Jeff in AZ - I couldn't agree more.
Gucci - Watch the LLWS. Those players have all those things you talked about that Theriot has. Doesn't mean they deserve to get paid to play.
Matt - Theriot sucks. The stats show. That is all.
What? Don't treat Soriano like Jones? Are you kidding me? He's a freaking 31 y.o. milionaire, and a big boy, what, you don't want to make him cry.....for God's sake, he's making 128 million $ and not even bating his weight .094, he's a freakin lead off guy with an OBP of .147 and he's a leading off?
