The Cubs will complete their 2-game series this afternoon against the Rockies in their only trip of the year to Denver. The Cubs will face the Rockies again at Wrigley for 4 games at the end of May but today, Jason Marquis will try to win his second game in a row.
Jason Marquis is coming off his first win of the year against the Pirates. He held the Bucs to 1 run on 6 hits in 6 innings....the key to his success was 7 strikeouts and only 1 walk. Marquis turned in his best performance in nearly a year. While Marquis struggled in his first two starts (Astros and Phillies), his team is 3-0 in games he has started.
Marquis is 5-3 in 11 career games, 9 starts, against the Rockies with a 4.04 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. At Coors Field, Marquis is 3-0 in 4 games, 3 starts, with a 2.49 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP.
