Last season the Cubs ad campaign featured a photo of Alfonso Soriano with "Play Like There's No Tomorrow", this year the Cubs will feature several of their stars, including Kosuke Fukudome in new print and outdoor advertisements that were unveiled on Tuesday.
The ads will feature Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano, Kerry Wood, Carlos Zambrano, Derrek Lee and Ryan Theriot, along with Fukudome. Each ad is "designed to showcase the international breadth and depth of the Cubs," according to a report on Cubs.com. Each advertisement will have a similar theme and will use the Cubs color scheme....red, white and blue and will feature the flag of the players' home country.
The Chicago Sun-Times published both the Kosuke Fukudome and Aramis Ramirez ads and they are linked to below. Fukudome's reads, "I don't need an interpreter. My bat does the talking." While Ramirez features the tagline, "They say hit where they ain't. Well, they ain't on Waveland Ave."
The campaign will include Kerry Wood with a Texas flag while Alfonso Soriano's will include the flag of the Dominican Republic.

I did say that the defense will be better but that wont be enough to get us to the WS
Sorry ment to post on other posting
I heard rumors that some Japanese were upset about the Fukudome add because it is similar to the Japanese WWII flag. Has anybody else heard this?
Yes, Chris I am reading the same thing....good to hear from you.
I am sure it wasn't meant to be disrespectful.
Makes no sense to upset the people of Japan.
Hopefully, it will be a non issue.
I don't think it was meant to be disrespectful either, but the Cubs have to be respectful of the Japanese culture as they will be heavily marketed over there now.
Neil - I'm still hanging around and love reading your site. Hopefully we can meet up in Mesa.
