According to reports out of Chicago the Cubs traded Craig Monroe on Tuesday to the Minnesota Twins for a player to be named later. Monroe was acquired from the Tigers last season for Clay Rapada.

Will update when more information becomes available....

I still have no idea why the Twins would do this. Its pretty obvious we were going to let him walk. If we get a AA journeyman for Monroe its a great deal for us. LOL.

The Rays are looking for a SS AND top notch young pitching for Crawford so it doesn't surprise me that Hill/Marmol are being discussed. The Rays OF is loaded with Upton, Young, Baldelli and Dukes so that is why they are considering dealing a stud like Crawford ... and why they probably won't be all that interested in Pie. Maybe Cedeno plus Hill or Marmol and a prospect like Gallagher gets it done (but that very well may not be enough) ... you won't get it done without Hill or Marmol. Frankly, I'd rather hold onto Hill and Marmol and sign one or two free agents for the OF because Hill and Marmol be very difficult to replace.
