Lou Piniella and Jim Hendry announced the Cubs' NLDS Roster on Tuesday night. According to a report by Paul Sullivan in the Chicago Tribune and reports on ESPN 1000, Lou Piniella is going with a 3-man rotation in the first series. Carlos Zambrano will pitch Game One, followed by Ted Lilly in Game Two. Rich Hill will go in Game Three with Zambrano to make the start on short rest in Game Four if necessary. Ted Lilly would start Game Five on regular rest, if needed. Piniella also stated Geovany Soto will start on Wednesday. Here is the rest of the roster that includes Kevin Hart, Jason Marquis and Felix Pie....

The Cubs announced Jason Marquis will be the long man out of the bullpen. Sean Marshall, Will Ohman and Craig Monroe were left of the first round roster. I am happy to see that Soto will start.

I hope I can get some sleep tonight. I am so pumped.

I can't wait until tom. I also am glad that Soto will start and its nice to see Hart make the postseason roster. I think Marquis as the long man is a good move as well. He normally keeps it together for 3 or 4 innings; perfect for the long man spot.

Let's go set the tone tomorrow!

I'm going to be there tomorrow.Cheering these boys on. I really like this roster. If we can get hot starting now, this could be a eal fun october. Here are my feelings on the roster:

-Great idea regarding Big Z and 3 days rest. Thanks to Pinella, his pitch counts were watched this year, as a result his arm is still strong.

-What is the deal with Trachsel? I heard the guys don't like him

-Soto is too good not to keep starting, but it is nice to have kendall as insurance with veteran leadership

-Kevin Hart must be on top of the world right now. Thank you Freddy Bynum

-Jacques was the best trade we never made. (that is what is sounds like to eat crow)

-Love that Pie will be available for speed and defense

-Monroe did not show much, he did not deserve a roster spot.

-Ohman was a suprise just because it leaves us with only one left hander.

-Fontenot and Cedeno are great back-up infielders. Thank god Cedeno is a backup and not a starter anymore.

-In my opinion, Pinella already deserves a statue based on how he turned this team and the culture around.

-I don't miss Dusty at all. Sorry to even mention him.

Go Cubs. Thanks Neil and the rest for such a great website to sit and bullshit about the cubs for 162 games plus the playoffs. I really feel like we are all in this together starting tomorrow. Enjoy the game everyone! It's gonna happen.

I want to add that Michael Barrett finally learned to block the plate with the Padres. Too bad that the ump. missed the call because Matt Holliday was out. I could care less about the Padres or the Rockies but that should have been 2 outs runner on second. Oh well, Peavy blew it...

There's not a single part of this roster I dislike. I would like to see Sean Marshall in the pen as another long man to give us a lefty, but you know what? This roster is the best of the team. If they absolutely need Marshall, I say Fontenot is the one to go, simply because Cedeno needs to up his trade value. I'm optimistic.

Im with all you guys. I dont want to say anything to jinxing. Im so excited, and I will see the CCO tomorrow! GO CUBS!

I like this roster as well. Glad to see Tracshel off of it. I thought it might be a decent trade at the time, but he did nothing but stink up the joint for 4 games. Hart over Ohman was the biggest surprise IMO. Thought maybe Lou would go with another lefty.

Anyway, I must be excited since I,m awake at 6 am ET and all I can think about is the game......in 16 hours. Luckily for my wife and kids, I'll be in Denver for three days so I don't wake them up with my, um, "intensity", at midnight. BTW, one really gets some weird questions when you ask if the hotel has TBS in the rooms.

Anyone catching all the Cubby love on Mike & Mike this morning. Im giddy.

Just want to say I think I'm still in shock. But I still think this could be the year.I've been a Cubs fan for over 20 years, and was in labor during game 3 of the 2003 series (watching the game) so of course I tell everyone that my daughter broke the "curse" for the Red Sox. We'll see...

Love the site, just found it today!
