Fasten Your Seatbelts

When the Cubs are locked in a tight game going into the 9th inning, Pat Hughes always reminds his audience to fasten their seatbelts this could be a wild one. Well, the bottom of the 8th inning just ended and I can hear Pat’s voice like he is sitting right next to me. What will happen over the next six games is unknown. But one thing is for sure, it will not be boring by any stretch of the imagination.

This is the week the Faithful have been looking forward to. This week is the reason why we have watched and listened to every pitch of every inning for the entire season. These next six games will decide who goes home and who goes on. Could anyone ask for anything more?

At the end of Spring Training, if someone would have told you the Cubs will be three games up with six to play, you would have taken that with a smile on your face….and chances are, Lou Piniella would have too. While some may be looking ahead, there are still six games left to play….six very important games that should not be taken for granted.

While some are discussing various numbers and possible rosters, let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. Let’s enjoy this week and enjoy the pennant race. The National League is wide open, nothing has been decided and our beloved Chicago Cubs are right in the middle of the whole darn thing.

Cubs Fever….it’s Contagious!!!
