Coats Traded....Rapada Completes Monroe Deal

According to a report on Cubs.com, Buck Coats was traded to the Reds for a player to be named later or cash. The Cubs also sent Clay Rapada to the Tigers as the player to be named later in the Craig Monroe deal.

Coats was designated for assignment by the Cubs in order to make room for Craig Monroe on the 40-man roster and he was optioned to Triple-A Louisville by the Reds. Rapada was assigned by the Tigers to Triple-A Toledo.

    Rapada is a loss. Monroe hopefully will earn it tonight as we face a rookie lefthander maybe he can change our luck against them.

    I don't mind losing Coats as much as Rapada...I thought he may be able to help the Cubs soon. But that's the way it has to roll, to get talent you have to deal talent. Let's hope it pays off and Monroe comes up huge for the Cubs the rest of the season!

    One can only dream whom the PTBNL will be from the Reds!
