Into Perspective

Sometimes baseball is more about just winning and losing ballgames and tonight is one of those times. Cliff Floyd lost his father earlier on Sunday and the CCO extends our thoughts and prayers to the family of Cliff Floyd.

A report in the Chicago Tribune stated Cliff’s father had been battling kidney problems and recently had open heart surgery. The Cubs placed Cliff Floyd on the bereavement list on Sunday in order for him to fly back to Chicago to be with his father. It has been reported that Cliff’s father, Cornelius, passed away on Sunday after suffering a stroke.

At a time when each game seems so important to Cubs’ fans, this serves as a reminder that those things that seem so important….probably aren’t. Although Cliff wasn’t in Denver with his team on Sunday, it sounds like he was exactly where he needed to be.

Quote of the Day
