Roster Moves? Cherry to be Recalled?

According to a report on ESPN 1000 in Chicago, the Cubs will recall Rocky Cherry from Triple-A Iowa before today's match-up with the Brewers. The Cubs have not made the move official and ESPN is not reporting who will be sent down in order to make room for Cherry.

Updated - 12:42pm C.T. - Billy Petrick will be optioned to make room for Rocky Cherry on the 25-man roster

According to Bruce Levine on ESPN 1000, the Cubs will option Billy Petrick down in order to make room for Rocky Cherry. The Cubs have not made an official announcement.

Will update when more information becomes available and official....

    Trevor I agree Petrick looks good. Has a exploiding fastball and a pretty good breaking ball. He is probaly going down so the bullpen has a freah arm. Thats my guess

    Jeff: Good point regarding ARam's heart..and for remembering how great of a move this was for Hendry to flat out steal him from the Pirates.





    On the roster move...Petrick did great yesterday in two innings of work so why move him down? This seems odd to me.

    I just wanted to make a comment about yesterday's hero. Rami, a Hendry guy, took a lot less money to stay with the Cubs, he has a gimpy knee, and the wind was blowing in fiercly from left to right. The Dude has heart, lets not question it anymore if he doesn't leg out an infield single to left. Thanks Rami for one of the best memories I've had during a Cub game in a long time. Go Cubs Go, Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago What da ya say? The Cubs are gonna win today!
