Prior Departs with Pain

According to several reports out of Chicago and from the AP, Mark Prior left his scheduled start on Thursday in Mesa after only 2 innings with pain in his right shoulder. Prior was scheduled to pitch anywhere from 3 to 5 innings (the reports vary) in his first extended spring training start but pain forced him to leave the game early. Prior is scheduled to meet with Dr. Lewis Yocum.

Several reports mentioned this latest injury surfaced without warning and that a bullpen earlier in the week had gone good and if he was O.K. after today’s start would have pitched for the I-Cubs next Tuesday.

So much for a quiet off day.

Will update if any additional information becomes available….

Quote of the Day

And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A. Happy 4th of July!
