Updated - 7:38pm C.T. - Kerry Wood Sidelined Indefinitely....Status is Day-to-Day

According to reports on XM Radio and SI.com, Kerry Wood has suffered another injury. Wood will not throw for the next several days due to soreness in his triceps. Lou Piniella described it as a "minor setback'. Wood apparently strained his triceps during his last outing on March 11th. Jim Hendry said he is not expecting any "long-term difficulties."

The Cubs had a "Plan B" going into this season with the signings of Ted Lilly and Jason Marquis.....they are no longer relying on the undependable. Rocky Cherry has had a good spring but another reliever will need to step up to feel the shoes the Cubs were expecting Wood to wear out of the pen.

Update - 7:38pm C.T.

According to a report on Cubs.com, Kerry Wood has "been sidelined indefinitely because of a minor strain of his right triceps....status is day to day." The injury apparently occurred due to bad footing on the mound at HoHoKam Park and Wood continued to pitch instead of asking for the hole to be filled.

"Wood apparently tried to extend his stride past a hole in the mound and felt it in his arm."

Will update if more information becomes available....

Maybe the veteran Floyd can help us...

    Go Cubs!!!

We all knew that Wood was brittle, I just didn't think that he was stupid. The mound is his work place and for him to compensate for a hole were he normally strides is just plain STUPID.
