Girardi Interviewed...Mike Quade and Pat Listach Names Added to the List

Jim Hendry formally interviewed Joe Girardi on Monday according to several reports out of Chicago on Monday night. Girardi spent the better part of the day at Wrigley Field with Jim Hendry.

From Cubs.com...."Joe and I spent the better part of the day together," Hendry said. "I thought it went very well."

According to the same report two other names surfaced for the Cubs opening, Mike Quade and Pat Listach. Quade was the I-Cubs manager last season (Quade had a brief stint with the Cubs as Baker's 3rd base coach while Chris Speier was tending to personal business) and Listach managed the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx. A report from the Associated Press indicated that both Quade and Listach will interview with Hendry this week. Listach is scheduled to manage the Mesa Solar Sox when the Arizona Fall League starts.

I have 2 preferred choices

1) Joe Girardi

2) Joe Torre

My belief is that it all depends on what kind of movement the Cubs are going for, either WIN NOW, or re-build with youth. Since it's my opinion, I WANNA WIN NOW!!!!! Bring in Girardi along with the new pitching coach & let's get going. Is it April 2007 yet??????

Hopefully, the new manager will be announced by the end of the week. I am hoping that it is:

#1 Joe Girardi (Clear cut choice)

#2 Bob Brenly (I wouldn't be totally disappointed)

#3 Lou Pinella (Old but good, just remember Jack Mckeon)

I would hate it if the following got the gig:

#1 Bruce Bochy (Boring with or without the mustache)

#2 Buck Showalter (I rather see him on ESPN)

#3 Joe Torre (Overated)

After Hendry makes his pick he could then start to concentrate on who he wants back and who he will trade to make this a better ballclub.
