According to a report out of Chicago from the Associated Press on Wednesday afternoon, Glendon Rusch was hospitalized with a blood clot in his lung. Rusch was sent to Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Tuesday night during the Cubs game with the Dodgers. Mark O'Neal said that the clot could have been life threatening if he had not been caught in time. Rusch will remain hospitalized for the next couple of days and will be put on blood-thinning medication for the next 3 to 6 months.

Rusch will miss the rest of the season.
