Most athletes say they give 110%, but do they? Well here at Chicago Cubs Online we do our best to give a 100%. Brian, Jason and I felt there was something missing….with only three contributors to the CCO. We feel the Cubs Faithful deserve the best possible coverage of Cubs’ Baseball we can provide. So we are pleased to announce the addition of Shaun O’Rourke….the missing quarter of the CCO.
Good Morning my name is Shaun O’Rourke. I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this great site. I am a season ticket holder and go to every game possible. I will try to give a creative report from inside the friendly confines. I came across this site during the hot stove season and I have been addicted ever since. My morning ritual consists of waking up in the morning getting ready for the day at hand and logging on to the computer to check out the CCO posts for the day. This really is the voice for the Cubs Faithful and I am incredibly honored to be a small piece to this ever-growing puzzle, ….which is Cubbies baseball.
As a little tike I was a member of the Oakland A’s Dyer Little League, therefore I thought I should be an A’s fan. I even thought I was the third member of the Bash Brothers. But once my Dad took me to Wrigley everything that was once green turned blue. I was a changed boy, which transpired into an obsessed adult. Growing up in Northwest Indiana, I always knew I would move to Chicago. After graduating from Ball State University in 2001 with a degree in telecommunications and a minor in journalism, I finally made the move to Chicago. I moved in with my best friend Jeff whose father has had season tickets at Wrigley for the past 20+ years. We lived at Wrigley, and loved every minute and my goal was to become a season ticket holder. At the end of the wonderful (and within a blink of an eye horrific) 2003 season my beautiful wife, Heidi, and I became season ticket holders. She shares my same passion for the Cubs….thankfully. As Brian said in one of his posts, his second home is Wrigley. I feel the same way. We are less than one month away from Opening Day and I couldn’t be more excited to get back to the old ballpark.
I look forward to a great season with all of you. A season full of wins and loses. A season full of walk offs and game ending strikeouts. A season full of balls and strikes. A season full of potential. But nonetheless a season with the Cubs. Thank you for letting me be a part of your passion.
Until next time….but always GO CUBBIES
