ESPN 1000 in Chicago is reporting the Cubs are close to a contract agreement with Carlos Zambrano. ESPN 1000 is reporting the announcement should be made today. Zambrano is scheduled for arbitration next Saturday. Baseball 365 is currently on the air with Bruce Levine and Bryan Dolgin.

Cubs.com is reporting the Cubs have agreed to a 1-year, $6.5 million with Carlos Zambrano and have avoided arbitration. Zambrano was asking for $7.2 million and the Cubs offered $6 million.
