The Cubs announced on Saturday that Ron Santo will lead the Wrigley Field crowd in singing the 7th Inning Stretch for 20 games this season. I thought when I read that, why can't he do that full time....I forgot about it and moved on. I was listening to Holden Kushner on XM Radio Sunday afternoon and he brought up this subject and said he felt the Cubs should have Santo sing the 7th Inning Stretch for all of the home games.
So I thought I would ask you guys what you thought....
Do you like the guest conductor? I will admit I have enjoyed the guest conductor. The Cubs and John McDonough have done a great job in my opinion of keeping it fresh for all these years. But is it time to move on? Do we want to hear Jeff Gordon again? What about Ozzy? But for every one of those you got to hear Jim Belushi, Will Farrell and Vince Vaughn just to mention a few.
I am a huge fan of Ron Santo and have said before I think he is 'The Fans' Voice of the Chicago Cubs'. If anyone should be a permanent conductor of the 7th Inning Stretch, it should be Ron Santo.
Let the CCO know what you think and remember you never know who might be reading.
Let's Go Cubbies!!

No doubt about it, Ron Santo should be the new voice of the Cubs. Great ballplayer, great person, and the most important....Great Cubbie inside and out. I love having having Ron Santo as the voice of the Cubs in the 7th inning stretch. As a side note, I still love Chip Caray and Steve Stone as the Cubs announcers and greatly wish they were back in the broadcast booth.
I love Ron Santo; but, I like the guest conductors, also. Not necessarily every day; but, I like a balance of them....like the old days with Harry.
Go Cubs!!
